Skeleton lake
Skeleton lake is also called as Roopkund Lake (generllay known as
Mystery Lake of Skeletons). This is a high altitude glacial lake located in
Uttarkhand state. It lies in lap of Trishul massif, which is 5029m (16500ft)
above sea level. It is about 40m in diameter and has a depth of 3m and is
frozen in the winter. It is said that hundreds of ancient human skeletons found
at the edge of the lake and are visible at its bottom when the snow melts.
Researchers found that group of people were killed in a sudden violet hailstorm
in the 9th century. Hence the Roopkund lake has been called as
Skeleton Lake.

Ladder game
The world’s famous game “Snake & Ladder” was first originated in
India. This game was associated with the philosophy explaining the concept of
karma, destiny or desire. The snake represented vices such as anger, lust etc
and the ladder represented faith, generosity and humility. The moral of the
game was that a person can attain salvation through doing good, whereas one
will be reborn as lower forms of lives by doing evil.
Largest Sundial
The Samrat Yantra in Jaipur is the largest and ancient sundial located
in Rajasthan state. The jantar mantar monument was built by the Rajput king
Sawai Jai Singh in 1738. It has been listed as UNESCO World heritage Site. The
Samrat Yantra which means “great king of
instruments” is 88 feet high and the gnomon’s upper face is at the latitude of
27degree. The sundial tells the time with an accuracy of about 2 seconds. He
Hindu chatri on top of it is used as a platform for announcing eclipses and the
arrival of monsoons.
Kumbha Mela is visible
from space
The Kumbha Mela festival is a major Hindu festival which is celebrated
in the cycles of 12 years at four holy river banks. It is the world’s largest
religious gathering where most of the Indian population celebrates and is said
that the crowd is visible in satellite and is captured by India’s high
resolution earth imaging satellite CartoSat-2.

is a ground located in Chail, Himachal Pradesh. The ground was established by
Bhupinder Singh Maharaja of Patiala in 1893. The ground is about 2444 meters
above the sea level which make it as the highest cricket ground.

Bandra-Worli Sea Link
The Bandra-Worli Sea Link which is officially known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea
Link is a bridge that connects Bandra in western suburbs of Mumbai with Worli
in South Mumbai. It is a bridge with pre-stressed concrete steel and viaduct at
either ends. The bridge is 5.6 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width. Each
cable is capable of holding 900 tons of weight.
