Crassula Ovata, commonly known as jade plant or lucky plant. It is a succulent house plant or indoor plant with thick, woody stems and oval shaped leaves. Jade plants have a tree like appearance with pink or white flowers which can be used as decorative indoor plant. Jade plants may be grown outdoors as landscape plants with mild and dry areas. Jade plants grow well with warm and dry conditions.

  • It helps in increasing humidity.

Jade plant act as humidifier.  Dry skin, flaky lips, itchy throat, cold and flu, allergies are some of the  symptoms of of low relative humidity. Bacteria and viruses can survive for long time in dry air condition. Hence humidifiers are the best to increase indoor humidity.
  • It acts as indoor air purifier.

Indoor air can be deadly polluted  as outdoor air. It can even lead to many health issues including dizziness, allergies, headache etc. Proper ventilation is the best way to prevent these issues. Hence Jade plant can be used as  a indoor air purifier.
  • It is believed as a good luck plant.

Jade Plant is believed to attract the prosperity and fortune, it is s symbol of good luck and consistency because it is a evergreen plant. It is perfect for your home and office.

Growing jade Plant in water by cutting.

Jade Plants can be easily grown from single leaves or cutting as it is a succulent plant.
  • Take a stem of well grown Jade Plant which is bushy or properly established. The length of stem cutting would be 2-3 inches and it should have at least two leaves.

                   



  • Once you are done with the cutting, place the stem in glass of water for 10-12 days. Roots would start developing between 6-8 days.



  • Once the length of roots starts growing, remove the stem from water and place it in the earthern pot or available container. Before placing the stem in pot or container, make a hole at the bottom of pot so that excess water can be drained out.



  • Fill the pot with soil which is slightly moist but not completely wet. Dig the soil about 1-2 inches depending upon the length of stem or size of the pot.


  • Now place the stem in the pot and spread some amount of soil on it.



Keep the pot out of direct sunlight until it is well established.
Here you go.. Meet my tiny JADE PLANT. This is my 1st ever try in planting and I’m loving it. I think you guys should try it too. The happiness you feel when you do something to yourself  by yourself is just ineffable.
